Musical Theater is a combination of jazz dancing, singing, vocal technique and acting. Musical Theater is the form in which dance, music and drama are integrated to entertain. This class focuses on the whole dancer; voice, expression, and movement.

The Musical Theater Company is made up talented individuals ranging from 6 years of age to adult. They have performed scenes from Annie, Snoopy, The Will Rogers Follies, The Grinch, Alice in Wonderland, The Sound of Music, Gypsy, Modern Millie, and Fiddler on the Roof.

In March of this year, the Musical Theater Company presented their first full length musical, Dorothy in the Emerald City, based on the story of the Wizard of Oz.

Through their various performances around Orlando, the members of the company have brought joy to the following groups: Give Kids the World, The Bridge Assisted Living Center, Orlando Central Library, Avalon Market-fest, Absolutely Avalon and Timber Creek High School.

The Festival of Dance Musical Theater Company is under the artistic direction of Roxanne Noles, professional choreographer, dancer and actress. Theresa Allen is the company’s Vocal Coach.

In addition to the regularly scheduled Saturday class, Musical Theater Company members have to take an additional class on Saturday afternoon, a Jazz/Tap combination class on Mondays, a Competition Turns and Leaps class on Tuesdays, and 1 or more additional dance classes during the week.

Mission Statement

The Musical Theater Company staff is committed to developing the artistic expression on an individual basis. Utilizing the arts to improve communication skills, build self esteem, and enhance each child’s talent in a wholesome way is our goal. Our hope is to bring fun-filled family entertainment to the community. Our desire is to show the world that kids can do above and beyond what is expected if given the chance to excel with positive direction.
